After 3 years, the woman outlined in the earlier post, "A Rape at the Peery Apartments" has decided to return to building as a resident once again....
After falling victim to the violent attack, this former resident moved out of the building in search of a safer place to live.
Three years later while passing by the building one day, she noticed the remarkable physical change in the building and stopped to ask someone (whom she thought was another resident) if the building was under new ownership or new management, citing the noticeable improvement in the building's appearance.
As fate would have it, the woman she stopped to ask, was not a resident of the building at all, she was my site manager, who then gave her a tour of the now, competently managed and infinitely safer Peery Apartments, after which she decided to fill out an application for residency, even though just 3 years earlier, she had been the victim of such a heinous and violent crime on the premises.
My initial response was to decline her application for a number of reasons. Then I considered what a compliment it was, to the way that the building is maintained and operated today, and that given those prior circumstances, this former resident felt comfortable enough to want to return to the building.
The management of the Peery Apartments is pleased to welcome this former resident back to the building.

UPDATE:
I should have stuck with my initial instincts and declined this woman's application.
Not even 4-months after she and her boyfriend moved back into the building, her boyfriend was arrested at the building and they were evicted for smoking marijuana on the premises.
It was later discovered that she also had a delinquent balance of $92. from her original Kier placed tenancy.
